Color Grading and Creative Retouch of a photographic shoot on a real location

Germany’s Next Top Model usually does high-action shoots on complicated locations to challenge the models. This time the shoot was a night shoot with the model flying high above Berlin’s roofs in the cold winter. Sublime was asked to bring the dark background to life and integrate “popping” colors creating a dream-like scenery.

Step by step.

As the background needs a lot of alteration and the model should not be affected by it,
we need to separate the model from the background.

Now the background can be brightened slowly. It is a difficult task,
as there is little color information left in the dark background.

The result. The girl blends into the dreamy misty background.
